I dont know the details but I do know that Dave died in the service of our country. He was not all that outgoing but such a nice, nice guy. I played football with him; he was small but my God it hurt when he hit you. The things I remember most are how kind he was and his toughness. And he had a lot of freckles. If he was a few inches taller he wouldve been All-Pro.
David was the starting center in the 1966 conference game against North Miami. Out weighted by over 75lbs he fought an all conference nose tackle to a stalemate the entire game. Nuff said.
